Basil Bradley, RWS, British 1842-1904- Lions; pencil and watercolour heightened with touches of white on paper, signed and dated 'Basil Bradley 1874.' (lower left), further signed, indistinctly inscribed and dated '... by Basil Bradley / 1874.' on the backing board, 46 x 74 cm. Provenance: Anon. sale, Phillips, London, 23rd April 1990, lot 22. Private Collection, UK. Note: Bradley was an animal, landscape and sporting painter. He exhibited at the Manchester School of Art from 1886-1899 and at the Royal Academy in London in 1867, where he became a member in 1881.
