Albert Dunington, British 1860-1928- On the Conway, near Bettws; oil on canvas, signed 'A. Dunington' (lower left), inscribed 'on the Conway near Bettws' verso, 61 x 41 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK (by descent). Note: Betws-y-Coed is a village and community in the Conwy valley, Wales, located in the historic county of Caernarfonshire, right on the boundary with Denbighshire, in the Gwydir Forest. Dunington was a painter in oil and watercolour of landscapes, coastal scenes and animals. He was born in Lenton, Nottingham, and later lived in Manchester. He exhibited several times at Nottingham Castle Museum (Nottingham Society of Artists) and later at Manchester City Art Gallery.
