Gervasio Gallardo (Spanish, born 1934), original surrealist oil painting on canvas depicting a knight in ornate armor with a watering can replacing the helmet, tenderly watering a vibrant pink rose. Set against a cracked, desolate landscape and a moody sky, the detailed textures of the knight’s armor and dewdrops on the rose create a balance between realism and surrealism. Signed in the lower right corner. Presented in a silver-toned frame with a beige linen liner. Provenance: Michel Roux (1940-2019), Absolut Vodka's visionary marketer. Work Size: 32 x 23 in.
