MINNIE ADKINS (KENTUCKY, B. 1934) AND GARLAND ADKINS (KENTUCKY, 1928-1997) OUTSIDER ART ROOSTER APPLIQUE QUILT, hand- and machine-stitched with all-over black sawtooth stitching, completed in solid and print fabrics, 20 pattern blocks with each featuring an applied rooster having painted eye, standing on a black base, on a light pink background, yellow grid sashing with red corner blocks, red border to all four sides, having grid, diamond, and sawtooth quilting, back-over-front binding, two-paneled solid red backing, top edge with applied fabric strip for hanging. Lower right block signed "G + M Adkins / 1990 / (c)" in red embroidered stitching. Dated 1990. 77" x 92 1/2".
