Lot description
Ray Waddey oil on canvas with layered plexiglass, painting of Vladimír Remek Czechoslovakia [now in Czech Republic]) is a Czech pilot and cosmonaut, the first person in space who was not from the Soviet Union or the United States and the first Czech citizen in space. He's flying a Mig-21 and escorted by a USAF F-4 piloted by Mugs McKeown "Back-Flip". His signature move reversed to sideslip the other way with big yaw rate, then quickly pulled a lot of aft stick to "back-flip", or, in Mug's own words "tumbled end over end". Signed by both pilots lower left corner and by the artist lower right corner. Dimension 26 X 20 inches.
