American, 1850-1932 Boats Along the Nile, 1889 Signed L. de Forest and dated 1889 (ll) Oil on canvas 25 x 20 inches (63.5 x 50.8 cm) (Frame: 28 3/4 x 23 3/4 inches) Canvas is relined; frame abrasion with associated wear to the edges; minor stretcher impressions; scattered areas of craquelure; few small areas of inpainting mostly in the sky toward the edges and to the water at center right.
