Lot description
Aaron Mountz (Pennsylvania 1873-1949), an important carved bird perched atop a barrel, initialed on base AWM, retaining its original surface, 15 1/2" h. This is one of the largest works by Mountz known and possibly the only signed example. Provenance: Pook & Pook, September 26, 2008, lot 359, The Collection of Walter Pyle Smith & Jeannette Chaffee Smith.
