Rudolph Ihlee, British 1883-1968 - The Aloe, 1927; oil on board, signed and dated lower left 'R Ihlee 1927', 37 x 44.5 cm (ARR) Literature: James Trollope, 'The Road to Collioure', Lund Humphries, London, p.116 Note: 'The Aloe', painted near the French Mediterranean fishing port of Collioure in the Summer of 1927. Ihlee, who lived in Collioure from 1922 to 1940, completed 25 oil paintings in 1927. The '2709' stamped on the back indicates it was the 9th work produced that year.
