Lot description

MICHAEL LEONARD (1933-) Dressing 29. Pencil on white wove paper. 203x190 mm; 8x7½ inches (wide margins). Initialed and dated in pencil center left recto. 1981. Illustrated: "Changing 50 Drawings by Michael Leonard," Michael Leonard, Edward Lucie-Smith, Gay Men's Press, London, 1983. Provenance: private collection, New York. Leonard's tonal drawings capture figures in motion, often doing quotidian tasks, and are a study of the subtle interactions of muscle, bone and sinew.
