Framed oil on canvas on artist board of a country road scene in Autum with a barn and farmhouses with mountains in the background. One of Canada's leading artists, Emily M. Carr (1871 - 1945) was active in British Columbia and is known for Rain Forest landscape, Indian villages and totem pole painting. Provenance: This painting was acquired by a Goffstown NH estate in 1938 in Toronto at a museum charity. . Note: the style quite different than most of her paintings but the signature seems correct.
