Lewis Foreman Day (1845-1910), an Aesthetic Movement ebonised mantel clock, with a gilt-painted and enamelled pottery dial, within a surround carved in relief with foliate decoration, with further panels inscribed 'Night' and 'Shade' and 'Day's Eye', 28cm wide 19cm deep 38cm high Provenance: Christie's, 'Arts & Crafts (4938)', Tuesday 21 November, 2006, lot 16; the Estate of Max Clendinning and Ralph Adron.
