Lot description

Adam Edwin Proctor, RI ROI RBA, British 1864-1913- A Breezy Morn; oil on canvas, 23.1 x 33.3 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: Proctor studied at the Westminster School of Art under Frederick Brown (1851-1941), whose other pupils included Augustus John (1878-1961), William Orpen (1878-1931), Wyndham Lewis (1882-1957) and Henry Tonks (1862-1937). Many of his paintings document his extensive travels around Europe and North Africa, though his most prolific works are those depicting the landscape in Surrey where he spent much of his life.
