Oil/canvas. 53,5 x 73 cm. Lo. le. sign. Roger Chapelet, titled and inscribed 'Force 9'. - French marine painter. C. initially worked in the marine ministry. In 1927 he began to paint, in 1936 he was appointed official marine painter. During WW II and thereafter he accompagnied numerous operations of the French marine.
