Lot description

SANDRO VACCHETTI (Italy, 1889-1976) for ESSEVI, Turin, c.1939. "Bust of a lady". Glazed and glazed earthenware. It has slight flaws in the chin. Signed and dated on the base. Measurements: 23,5 x 10 x 14,5 cm. Female bust made in glazed and glazed earthenware. The artistic ceramics factory Essevi was founded in 1934 by the painter, ceramist and designer Sandro Vacchetti in collaboration with the Turin ceramist Nello Franchini, both former employees of the ceramics manufacturer Lenci of Turin. Essevi's production closely continues the Lenci aesthetic, of which Vacchetti was artistic director from its founding until 1933. It presents slight faults in the chin.
