Lot description

EVA LOOTZ (Vienna, 1940). Untitled, 1987. Mixed technique on paper. Attached to the back is a label from the Barcelona gallery Ciento. Measurements: 32 x 22.5 cm.; 39 x 29 cm. (frame). Eva Lootz's drawings largely correspond to the graphic part or sketches of artistic projects of urban intervention. In them, the human footprint, in the form of a shoe sole or foot anatomy, is very present and can be linked to proposals in which ecology, art and society are integrated. A Viennese artist living in Madrid since 1965, Eva Lootz trained in her hometown, where she studied Fine Arts, Musicology, Cinematography and Philosophy. Although she is mainly known for her sculptural side, Lootz also works with installation, drawing, engraving, photography, video and sound, always focused on her main concern: the relationship between matter and language. He began his exhibition activity in 1973, and since then he has held regular individual exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, in galleries and art centers such as the Galleriet de Lund (Sweden, 1981), the David Breitzel in New York (1990 ), the Barbara Faber in Amsterdam (1990, 1994, 1996), the South London in London (1994), the Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation in Palma (1996), the Luis Adelantado in Valencia (1997), the Borås Konstmuseum (Sweden , 1997) or the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid (2002). She has also participated in competitions, collectives and official exhibitions such as Expo'92 in Seville, and in 1994 she was awarded the National Prize for Fine Arts. She is currently represented in the MACBA in Barcelona, the MNCARS in Madrid, the Museum of Abstract Art in Cuenca, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Malmö, the CAAM in Las Palmas, the Patio Herreriano Museum in Valladolid and many other public and private collections.
