Heinrich Gottlieb Ludwig Reichenbach (German, 1793-1879) 2 studies of hornbills, ink, watercolor, and gum Arabic, ink caption in lower margin, mounted, framed and glazed, sheets. Original studies for plates in Reichenbach's great ornithological work "Die Vollstandigste Naturgeschichte der Vogel des In- und Auslandes," published between 1845-1862 in Dresden. Provenance: Hazlitt, Gooden & Fox, London (label on the back of the frame, with old printed description labels).
