BIOGRAPHY: Olof Krumlinde joined early on in the emerging open-air painting, where the artist painted outdoors - "a plein air" - instead of in the studio. The new school originated in France in the middle of the 19th century to later gain many followers among Swedish artists. Olof Krumlinde formed friendships with Carl Skanberg, Johan Ericson and Olof Jernberg. Together with these friends, he painted realistic landscapes along the coastline from Kullen, Skalderviken, Torekov and up to Halmstad. In 1881, Olof Krumlinde traveled to Paris to study the new French landscape realism, like the pioneers Alfred Wahlberg, Per Ekstrom and Carl Fredrik Hill.
