Attributed to LOUIS-PIERRE VERWÉE & EUGÈNE JOSEPH VERBOECKHOVEN (Warneton 1799–1881 Brussels) Forest clearing with peasants and their livestock. 1838. Oil on panel. Monogrammed and dated lower right on the stone: E.V. F. 1838. 74.5 × 90.5 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Switzerland. Christiaan Lucht, M.A. attributes the figure group in the right half of the painting to Verboeckhoven and indicates that the remaining parts are done by another hand, presumably that of Verwées. Öl auf Holz. Unten rechts auf dem Stein monogrammiert und datiert: E.V. F. 1838. 74,5 × 90,5 cm. Provenienz: Schweizer Privatsammlung. Christiaan Lucht, M.A., ordnet die Malerei der Figurengruppe in der rechten Bildhälfte der Hand Verboeckhovens zu und verweist darauf, dass die übrigen Partien des Gemäldes einer anderen Hand, vermutlich der Verwées entstammen, wofür wir ihm danken. ---------------
