Roswell Theodore Weidner (American, 1911-1999) Cranberry Bog, Smithville, New Jersey Signed 'R. Weidner' bottom right; also titled on upper stretcher verso, oil on canvas 34 x 49 3/4 in. (86.4 x 126.4cm) Provenance Collection of Robert Coyle, Trenton, New Jersey. Acquired directly from the above circa 1985-1995. Property from the Estate of Angela Gross Folk, New Jersey. Exhibition Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, n.d. (per inscription on upper stretcher verso). The unlined canvas in overall very good, almost excellent original condition with no sign of inpainting as seen under UV light. Faint scuffs in the upper right corner (very minor).
