OLYNTHE MADRIGALI (Corsica, 1887-1950). "Landscape. Oil on panel. Signed in the lower left corner. Size: 23 x 32 cm; 32 x 43 cm (frame). Olynthe Madrigali, French landscape painter, was born in Bastia, Corsica. He studied with Paul Sain in Paris and Florence. He settled permanently in Nice in 1920. His favourite subjects were views of Algiers and the landscapes of the Côte d'Azur and his native Corsica. His style, in the wake of Impressionism, is vibrant and luminous, as can be seen in this landscape view, probably painted in Corsica.
