Original oil on canvas painting by Joseph Wallace King, signed lower left "Vinciata", circa 1962. Titled on the verso "Florentine Model". Wonderful subject of a beautiful young Italian woman kneeling, attired in peasant costume, with acastle in the background. Painting employs the chiaroscuro technique of the Italian Renaissance old masters. Approx. 17-3/4" x 21-1/2", overall frame size approx. 28" x 32". Purchased from Hammer Galleries, New York, NY. Frame has somewear with scuffs and scratches.
