(British, 1779-1844) A Frigate and Fishing Vessel on the Channel, not apparently signed, oil on canvas, 27-3/8 x 39-1/4 in.; original ornate gilt wood and composition frame composition frame, 39 x 53 in. Provenance: Property from the Thomson House, 5th Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, built by Thomas Chalmers Darsie; by descent to Anne Darsie Thomson then to Robert Thomson; Gifted 2014 to Chatham University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
