Queen Mary's visit to the United States has been much anticipated by the sovereign since the end of the First World War. As during the Paris Peace Conference, Maria's appearance on the American continent meant a real diplomatic success, creating a positive image for Romania through her presence. The success of the sovereign in front of the American public was immortalized in the era and by the contemporary press that followed her journey closely. Today, the numerous articles written about her journey remain testimony to the magnitude of the queen's presence. From the point of view of foreign policy, the trip of Queen Maria also meant the alignment of Romania with the values of democracy at that time, an affirmation of the path that the Balkan monarchy wanted to follow since the First World War.
