He was born in the town of Lille in northern France. Wintz began his artistic training at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lille, where he studied painting and drawing. After completing his studies, he moved to Paris, where he became associated with the School of Paris, a group of artists who were active in the city in the early 20th century. Wintz's paintings often featured pastoral scenes of the French countryside, including fields, forests, and villages. He had a keen eye for capturing the subtle nuances of light and shadow in nature, and his landscapes are characterized by their soft, muted tones and impressionistic brushwork. In addition to his landscapes, Wintz was also known for his paintings of everyday life in rural France. These works often depicted farmers and their families engaged in various activities, such as harvesting crops, tending to livestock, and gathering around the dinner table. Wintz's artwork was exhibited widely in France during his lifetime, and he was awarded several prestigious prizes and honors for his contributions to the arts. Today, his paintings can be found in the collections of museums and galleries around the world, including the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo.
