Portrait of a Beautiful Young Woman, wearing a white dress and holding a small flower, demurely looks directly at the viewer. Oil on chamfered board, signed upper right. Condition: minor paint losses and abrasions, see photos. Frame as is, see photos. Tito Conti was born in Florence, Italy, and became among the most significant painters of the late nineteenth century. He painted superb historical and genre scenes; his portraits are in the tradition of the depiction of beautiful females, gentle, sweet and somewhat coy. Overall size: 13 3/4 x 11 3/4 in.
