Anglo-Indian Silver Sugar Bowl, George Gordon & Co., Madras, act. 1821-1848, marked "GG&Co", ovolo rim, lion's head and ring handles, reeded body, circular plinth on suppressed ball feet, h. 4 in., w. 6 1/2 in., wt. 12.80 troy ozs. Note: The Gordon family were prominent colonial silversmits in Madras, beginning with Hugh Gordon who arrived in 1792.
