Adolphe Borie (American, 1877-1934) Portrait of Thomas McKean Signed 'Adolphe Borie' bottom left, oil on canvas 36 x 29 in. (91.4 x 73.6cm) Provenance Private Collection, Pennsylvania. Craquelure present throughout the work, most prominent to top left side of the head. Small pinprick losses at the left side of the head. Under UV a large patch of inpainting present at lower center. A thin 3 inch brush stroke of in painting present at the figure's right shoulder. Heavy green varnish inhibits thorough reading of the work. Work is in a Frederick Harer frame. Frame: 43 1/2 x 36 in.
