The Beheading of Saint Paul . Various notes in pencil verso. Etching on handmade paper. 28.1 x 19.4 cm. A narrow margin around the edge of the image, lower margin trimmed close to the platemark. Soiled, damaged, restored. Literature: Kloss, Ernst, Michael Willmann. Leben und Wirken eines deutschen Barockmalers. Breslau 1934, illustration 11 (the painting) and illustration 150 (the etching). Provenance: from the estate of the Stuttgart art dealer and collector Wolfgang Trauwitz (1927-1970).
