Archimedes, engraving after a painting of Jean Baptiste Le Prince (1734-1781), engraved end published by René Gaillard (1719-1790) in Paris ca 1773. A very fine dark strong impression on watermarked laid paper with 3 - 5 cm margins. Engraving in excellent condition. With two collectors marks on the back: 1, Lugt L168B: Albert ROSSIER (1876-1955), directeur général du Crédit Commercial de France, Paris. 2,L 1375: Henri ROSSIER (né en 1835), médecin, vit à Vevey. Collection portraits gravés. He affixes his mark only on irreproachable prints.
