MANUEL GIL PÉREZ (Valencia, 1925-1957) Untitled. Collage on cardboard. Signed in the lower right corner. Size: 34,5 x 43,5 cm. This artist is one of the key figures in the Valencian pictorial panorama of the 1950s. He studied at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos de Valencia (1941-1942) and later at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Carlos (1943- 1950). He was always a very enterprising and non-conformist man with regard to the art that was being produced in Valencia at the time. He played a decisive role in the foundation and development of Grupo Z (1947-1950), Grupo Parpalló (1956-1961) and collaborated with the Movimiento Artístico del Mediterráneo (1956-1961).
