7.5" by 10" unframed. 15" by 17.5" framed. Oil on Board. Paint has wear in areas as shown. Signed. Excellent example of the artists work. Hugo Kaufmann (1868 - 1919) was active/lived in Germany. Hugo Kaufmann is known for Portrait painting and sculpture. Hugo Kaufmann was born in Schotten (Upper Hesse). After studying at the Hanauer academy, the Frankfurt industrial school, the Städel institute and at the Munich academy, he lived and worked in Munich till 1907. Until 1917 Kaufmann remained a resident in Berlin, where he had moved in 1907. After 1917 the artist returned to Munich. Kaufmann's emphasis was on the monumental and small sculptures as well as on portraits.
