Clearly influenced by Mucha’s Têtes Byzantines, Atché’s spin on female beauty in profile is far more contemplative than the Art Nouveau master’s. Like a fine Renaissance lady, she is lost in thought against an intricate weaving of dusty jewel-toned foliage within a circular period frame. (Art Nouveau)
