Giovanni Battista Vanni (Rome) 1599-1660. Christ at the Wedding Feast in Cana. Etching and engraving (after Paolo Veronese 1528-1588), 1637. Bartsch 17. The complete print joined from the two sheets; joined in the middle. Printed in black ink on contemporary laid paper with thread margins or just to the platemark. 351 x 677 mm. (13 13/16 x 26 5/8 in.) The three musicians prominently profiled are the portraits of Titien, Veronese and Tintoretto, appearing in front of the coraetto player in the front foreground.
