Charles Jouas (France) 1866-1942. [Maquette for a mural containing Marianne (Symbol of France)]. White chalk over graphite and black crayon, c. 1890. Grid format. Signed with pencil, l.r. On blue/gray laid paper 498 x 315 mm. (19 5/8 x 12 3/8 in.). Possible study for the mural on the main staircase at the Hotel St. Vaast, Amiens. Ex Coll: Eric G. Carlson.
