Lot description
Alexander Francois Loemans (Canadian/American, circa 1816-1898), Mountain Vista with American Indians oil on canvas (lined), signed at lower right, presented in a weathered wood frame. SS 29.5 x 47.5 in.; DOA 36.25 x 54 in. Little is known of Loemans' early life. He was likely born in the Netherlands, but emigrated to Canada and the northern United States where he is best associated with the Hudson River School painters.
