DONALD "RUSTY" RUST. "A Breeze in the Phone Booth." Pin-up for unknown publication, circa 1980s. Oil on canvas. 663x610 mm; 30x24 inches. Signed "Rusty" in lower right image. Framed. Influenced by greats like Gil Elvren and Norman Rockwell, Rust (born 1932) paints everything from portraits to nature studies to racy pin-ups. This image of a spicy redhead in a phone booth, very much in the style of Elvgren's calendar girls, was appropriated for a number of commercial purposes including shower curtains, mugs, and T-shirts.
