Alfred Gomersal Vickers (1810 - 1837) "A View in Ghent Belgium" Oil on Canvas. Alfred Gomersal Vickers was a painter, draftsman and illustrator. He was born in London, England and died there. In addition to his travels to Russia, he toured Germany, France, Poland, Holland, Belgium, and Switzerland. Several works by him are in the permanent collection of the Yale Centre for British Art, Hartford, Connecticut. This piece has a tag on the backside where the art was listed from Mitchell Galleries Ltd. in St. James's, London.
