Lot description
This portrait is by Coby Whitmore, an artist who was born in Ohio and went to art school in Chicago. Many of his paintings were based on "boy meets girl" themes and he illustrated beautiful women for major magazines like McCall's, Cosmopolitan, and Woman's Day. The painting here is titled "The Scapegoat Part II"on the verso and is signed in the lower left. The overall size is 26 x 20 1/2 in. wide and the sight size is 23 1/2 x 17 1/2 in. wide.
