ARTIST: IB ANDERSEN (1907-1969) SIZE: 24 1/4 x 68 in./61.7 x 172.2 cm PRINTER: Henrik Sandbergs Stentrykkeri, København DESCRIPTION: Ib Andersen, the son of Denmarks preeminent poster artist, Valdemar Andersen, fell naturally into his fathers profession, creating around two dozen graphically-aggressive posters during his career. Strongly influenced by Cubism and the Bauhaus School, his images are more works of art than simple advertisements. Here, this two-sheet design for Politiken, the second-largest newspaper in Denmark, implies that in a fast and confusing universe, only Politiken remains fixed and clear. (Modern; Literary)
