Lot description

Very Rare bronze statue shows the hunter sitting upon a horse, a lamb across the pommel, holding the head of a mountain lion raised high in his right hand, his dogs alongside. Signed on plinth "WAAGEN sculpt." A presentation plaque attached to the plinth is written in French. "S. Martin Fondeur, Paris." marked right of terrain. Displayed on oval wood base. Condition: Original untouched surface. Olive brown with gold highlighted patina. Very fine. Size: Sculpture: 48" H x 41" L x 19" D. Base: 17" H x 41" L. Signature: Signed on plinth "WAAGEN sculpt."
