Joaquin Miro (Spanish, 1849-1914), oil on canvas titled 'Temple Scene with Maidens,' executed circa 1880, depicting a scene from antiquity of robed maidens gathered in a temple courtyard offering flowers to a ceremonial fire, the temple columns draped in garlands with blossoms strewn about the maidens' feet, artist signed 'Joaquin Miro' at lower right, 13"h x 18"w, overall dimensions including frame 24.5"h x 29.25"w x 3"d.
