Hommage Ï Nicolas de Staël' signed lower right and signed, titled and dated 'XI '60 on the reverse oil on unstretched canvas, 100x160 cm Exhibition: 'Tentoonstelling Wagemaker, Van Bohemen, Romijn and others.', Galerij Orez, The Hague, 09-09 - 30-09-1960. Gust Romijn was one of the founders of ZERO, a particular club formed in Rotterdam in 1959. The group consisted of the founder Hans Sonnenberg and the artists Jaap Wagemaker, Kees van Bohemen, Jan Schoonhoven, Gust Romijn and also the Italian avantgardist Piero Manzoni, who all worked in an abstract expressionist or informal way, (source: Caroline de Westenholtz, 'Hoger die drempel!
