Chinese Painting Signed Wu Wei: Expressive brushwork illustrates two men conferring on a dirt path. Their conversation takes place under a tree with leafless thin branches hanging overhead. A large calligraphic symbol and artist’s seal are on the upper right side. Wu Wei (ca. 1459–1508) was a Chinese landscape painter during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Wu was born in Wuchang in the Hubei province. His style names were 'Shiying and Ciweng' and his sobriquets were 'Lufu and Xiaoxian'.
