Oil on canvas Signed, lower left Canvas 101.5 x 63cm (40 x 24 3/4in.); painting 80 x 58.5cm (31 1/2 x 23in.) Unframed Executed in the 1950s, the present work is the original artwork for the British Railways poster of Edinburgh. The monument itself, which is situated in Princes Street Gardens, dates from 1844 and is a commemoration to the writer Sir Walter Scott.
