Varley: A Centennial Exhibition, Edmonton Art Gallery, Edmonton, 1981, pages 166 and 168.Note:In 1949, Varley was teaching at the Doon Summer School of Fine Arts. The demands on him were intense yet he still found time to paint (see lot 74). That autumn, Varley returned to Toronto to feature in a documentary film about his life in art with the NFB.Estimate: $30,000–40,000
