Lot description
59. Bernie Wrightson original splash page art of the “Alien Queen” from the graphic novel Batman/Aliens. (ca. 1990s) Accomplished in pencil and ink with white-out and paste-up dialog bubble on 24 x 18 in. artist board. Spectacular 2-page ink illustration. A seldom seen double-page spread, which adds dramatic impact to the overwhelming presence of the “Alien” creature attacking a hapless woman and a characteristic Wrightson rendering of “Batman”. Handwritten in purple artist marker in left blank border, “Bats and Bugs #2 pp. 32 & 33”. A very detailed and compelling oversized presentation piece. Retaining pencil border. In fine condition. $1,500 - $2,000
