ALFRED GOMERSAL VICKERS (1810-1837) THE CONVENT OF THE ASCENSION AND THE HOLY GATE, MOSCOW inscribed Moscow and inscribed Convent of the Ascension Holy Gate (verso) pencil 25cm by 39.5cm; 10in by 15.5in Provenance Albany Gallery Vickers was the pupil of his father Alfred Vickers, and was influenced by Bonington and Francia. He exhibited from 1827, and in 1833 was sent to Russia by Charles Heath to make drawings for his Annuals.
