Canogar’ in pen, as well as fitted with two labels ‘Galeriea Guy Bärtschi – Geneve’ and ‘David Canogar “Enredos I”, 2008 (4/7) Kodak Enduras mounted on aluminum frame 100 x 150 cm’ Overall dimensions: 100.5 x 148 cm Very good condition Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 4,000 Euro This work originates from a series of nine photographs, which bears the title ‘Enredos’ (English: entanglement, tangle). As one of the most important contemporary Spanish photographers, the artist detaches from the traditional photo format and uses a new dynamising image technique to integrate the viewer. Thereby, his main theme is the human body, which here - as the name implies - can be seen tied up in a seemingly tangled mess of cobwebs. According to Canogar, these cobwebs are a metaphor for electricity lines, with whose help on the one hand we can create complex emotional connections, however which on the other side keep us trapped. Condition: The photograph is in a very good condition with minimal signs of wear. The dimensions are 100.5 x 148 cm. Daniel Canogar (b. 1964) The Madrid-born artist studied Image Sciences at the Facultad de Ciencias de la Información of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid until 1987. From 1987 to 1990 he was able to study photography at the International Center of Photography and the New York University with the help of a scholarship. In 1992 he was guest artist at the Academy in Budapest, three years later he was at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta (Canada). Besides photography, Canogar is also active as a curator, for example in 2003 he conceived the exhibition ‘Ingrávidos’, which addressed the theme of gravity in science, technology and everyday life. In 1997 Canogar was awarded the Ojo Crítico de Radio Nacional. His works can be seen i.a. at the Center of Science and Industry in Ohio, at the Musée d'art contemporain in Lyon and at the der Universitat Politècninca de Valéncia.
