Percy Ives (American, 1864-1928), "Study of Mountain Brook, the brook from Eastdale Farm, Grassmere [sic], England, Sept. 15, 1885", likely study for larger work, oil on artist board depicting stream tumbling over mossy rocks in deep mountain forest, pen inscribed "Percy Ives, England, 1885" LR, pen inscription verso, partial imprint of art supply label verso, possible scattered isolated areas of retouching, regularly spaced score marks and light stray scratches possibly executed by artist visible under some angles, not examined out of frame, ss: 8 1/2" h. x 11 1/2" w. [Varnish removed and clear coat applied by CT art restorer Rick Sorreno.]
