Volume one (of two, the second volume being released in 1695). With 74 full-page copper-plate engravings by Michael Wening depicting biblical scenes, portraits of martyrs and saints, churches, monasteries, et al. The format of the book consists of an engraving on the verso and its corresponding prayer on the facing page. Each pair is numbered (through 105, or as many days as the liturgical year). Small quarto. Unpaginated. Nineteenth-century black morocco, fore-edge clasps lacking. Ex-library, with inkstamp to half-title and title page, as well as a card envelope on the rear pastedown. Significant scuffing to boards. Lacks FFEP. Hinges over-opened. Light, scattered dampstaining and thumbsoiling throughout textblock. Two-inch contained closed tear to plates numbered 3-4, affecting text. Large open tear to plates numbered 26 and 27, resulting in 1/3 page loss. Library inkstamp to bottom margin of plate numbered 62. Four-inch contained closed tear to plate number 73. Good.
